About

As an educator I am guided by:

Manaakitanga, leading with moral purpose;
Pono, having self-belief;
Ako, being a learner;
Awhinatanga, guiding and supporting those around me.

My educational philosophy embraces Manawa (heart).
My Catholic values follow me in my work with young people. I believe in integrity, fair play, respect, a commitment to excellence, a positive attitude and most notably a sense of humor.

My educational philosophy embraces Mahunga (knowledge).
That is, having an understanding of cultural diversity, restorative practices, Special Character of Catholic schools and the integration of eLearning in the classroom.

My educational philosophy embraces Nga Ringa Ringa (actions). That is, engaging the whole school community and acting as a role model for all members of that community.

I would like to use this blog to share some of my thoughts on education, leadership and the role of technology in the classroom and beyond.

    Hey there Andrew. You have been busy. Would be great to get your ideas on a vision for our Year 7/8 elearning over the next little while. How we build on the experiences they have with elearning through our contributing schools and the ways we can compliment and build on this through resourcing and teacher expertise. How we can empower our students to be ICT literate in this changing educational environment and use these skills to meet personalised learning goals.

    Yes Andrew we must talk further. I think it is important to consider an overall goal when looking at these issues and remember that people are our most precious resource.
